New Pool Construction

The pool was re-built during the winter of 2006-2007.  Here are updates and pictures as the work progressed.  A final "Grand Reopening Celebration" was held on opening weekend.

5/26/07 – Mayor Lederer cuts the ribbon to officially open the new pool.  Other Fairfax City and Virginia officials look on.  An eager crowd of kids await their first chance to try out the new pool.

4/19/07 – Some recent pictures of the pool renovation are below.

3/26/07 - The baby pool has been poured and work has taken place in the pump room.  Crews are now preparing to pour the decking, stairs, bleacher area, and ramp.  David Bockman, one of our pool members who is a landscape architect, is helping develop a plan for our plantings.  Everything is still on schedule to complete the renovation well before open day on Memorial weekend.  Our membership committee (Sarah Hamaker and Betsy DeMarco) is busy planning a big celebration for our grand re-opening.

2/6/07 - Work has begun on the baby pool!  We're going to have a zero depth entry (like a beach) and water features.  Get your babies to the tanning salon so they'll be ready on Memorial weekend to enjoy their new pool.  The construction is still on time and we should be seeing some decking soon.  The Patteson/Stinnett family claims bragging rights for first kids in the pool.

1/13/07 - The floor of the pool was poured this week and the walls will be in next week (weather permitting).  The construction is on track to be completed well before opening on Memorial weekend.  We're looking forward to a great summer in our new facility.
